Sometimes I thought how my life would have been in college student (eighty) with the availability of all current technological objects? College life is still the same, because the questions What topic have to learn that skill must achieve to be better than other professional? How can I get to increase my chances of having a better quality of life? remains valid.

Today's students have a great ally to go much further than I had intended at the time. Itself have a natural advantage, as they are digital natives, because when they were born in the nineties, the internet existed, also cell phones, remote controls and video games, cable television and video player, computers Portable, Windows 95, hypertext, URL, e-mail and not as much thing. For today's students, these elements are part of their daily lives as usual, are part of their social relationships, are part of how they communicate, how they take information, how they fall in love, what what else? , we should preguntárselos them.

The improvement in increasing communication speeds, quality and capacity has allowed the same environment as reduced to a young student faced in the eighties is now completely different, overwhelming. This also happens with the information they can access, deposits of knowledge and resources tend to be infinite. If we consider that the development of humanity rests in the previous generation, is based on their knowledge, then this would imply that the next generation will move much faster than its equivalent in the eighties and that this improvement will be increasingly faster .

Today's students have dreams like any boy his age, and has been before now and will remain so after. But your dreams may be more spectacular, more stunning, every time, because they have a great opportunity to further my generation had not.

The birth and death will always be there, but how to live between those two points will never be the same, the internet and all its technological environment marked points of no return.

Algunas veces he pensado ¿cómo hubiese sido mi vida de estudiante universitario en los (ochenta) con la disponibilidad de todos los objetos tecnológicos actuales? La vida universitaria sigue siendo la misma, pues las preguntas ¿qué tema tengo que aprender, que habilidad debo lograr para ser un profesional mejor que otros? ¿Cómo logro aumentar mi probabilidad de tener una calidad de vida mejor? sigue siendo vigente.

Los estudiantes de hoy tienen un gran aliado para llegar mucho más lejos de lo que yo hubiese pretendido en su momento. De por sí tienen una ventaja natural, pues son nativos digitales, pues cuando nacieron, en los noventa, la internet ya existía, la telefonía celular también, los controles remotos y los video juegos, la televisión por cable y  el video reproductor, las computadoras portátiles, Windows 95, el hipertexto, los URL,  el correo electrónico  y no se cuanta cosa más. Para los estudiantes de hoy, estos elementos son parte de su cotidianeidad de siempre, son parte de sus relaciones sociales, son parte de la manera como se comunican, de cómo toman información, de la manera como se enamoran, ¿y de qué más?, tendríamos que preguntárselos a ellos.

La mejora cada vez en las velocidades de comunicación, la calidad y capacidad de las mismas ha permitido que el entorno tan reducido al que se enfrentaba un joven estudiante en los ochenta ahora sea totalmente distinto, abrumador. Esto pasa también con la información a la que puede acceder, los depósitos de conocimiento y los recursos tienden a ser infinitos. Si tenemos en cuenta, que el desarrollo de la humanidad se apoya en la generación anterior, se apoya en sus conocimientos, entonces esto implicaría que la generación siguiente avanzará mucho más rápido que su equivalente en los ochenta y que dicha mejora será más acelerada cada vez.

Los estudiantes de hoy tienen sueños como cualquier joven de su edad, y así ha sido antes, ahora y lo seguirá siendo después. Pero sus sueños pueden ser más espectaculares, más impresionantes, cada vez, pues ellos tienen una gran oportunidad adicional que en mi generación no la tuvimos.

El nacer y el morir siempre estarán allí, pero la manera de vivir entre esos dos puntos nunca será la misma, la internet y todo su entorno tecnológico marcaron puntos de no retorno.

El aprovechamiento de esta herramienta tecnológica se debe enseñar, debe lograrse que el estudiante descubra que puede ser gran utilidad para sus propósitos de ser un profesionista, de mejorar sus criterios, su reflexión, su opinión, su conocimiento y aplicación, debe tener un guía que, aunque sea un inmigrante digital, se comprometa a llevar adelante al estudiante apoyado en las nuevas tecnologías de comunicación e información. El estudiante explora lo nuevo, como cualquiera lo haría, como lo hacíamos antes con una regla de cálculo o con una calculadora de bolsillo, con el programa Fortran y las tarjetas perforadas, pero debe ser inducido a utilizar los nuevos recursos, a encontrar utilidad, que tenga significado e importancia lo que hace, y que logre enlazar su propia autonomía con la nueva forma de crecer, con la nueva forma de vivir.
